The till for the whole course

A full touchscreen till: order entry, seats, modifiers, discounts and comps with manager approval, voids with an audit trail, cash drawer shifts with X and Z reports, and end-of-day reconciliation with over/short.

The pro shop counter: a sleeve, a glove and a bag of tees, $52.87 with HST

A sleeve, a glove and a bag of tees: subtotal $45.97, HST $6.90, $52.87. The shop, the turn and the grill are categories on one till, not separate systems to reconcile at the end of the night.

At the counter

From tee time to closed check

The sheet and the till are the same system, so a round booked on the sheet arrives at the counter already priced.

Check-in opens a real check

Checking a group in puts one green fee line — and a cart line for anyone riding — on the till, seated one per golfer. Tax is applied once on the whole, not per line. Nothing is re-keyed.

The members’ rounds at $0.00 because their dues cover them, two carts at $28.00, a public round at $45.00 and a junior at $40.00. Subtotal $141.00 — exactly what the sheet quoted — then HST once on the whole.

A checked-in foursome on the till, one seat per golfer, subtotal $141.00

Four players, four ways to pay

Split a check evenly, by seat, or by item — the parts always add up to the whole to the cent, including the tax, which is allocated rather than recalculated. Splitting a foursome by seat is one tap, because every green fee and cart line already carries the golfer it belongs to.

One pays cash, one taps a card, one puts it on their member account, and the check does not close until the last one is covered.

The pro shop, on the same check as the round

The till rings shop items with sizes and options, takes payment, and reports on them by item, by category and by person. Gloves, balls, tees, rentals and the halfway house all run on the same check as the round.

A glove is a size and a hand. Both are marked required, and the button stays “Choose required” until they are answered. The counter cannot ring a glove that nobody can pick off the shelf.

Inventory: the shelf, what it’s worth, what to order

Stock levels, receiving, counts, waste and reorder points are all there. Receive a delivery, count a shelf, write something off — each one a row you can read back, with who did it and when.

Selling a glove takes one off the shelf when the check closes, and the shelf is valued at moving average cost rather than the last price you happened to pay — so one rush order at double the price does not revalue your whole shelf. 144 on hand at $10.50 average cost is $1,512.00 at cost.

You can sell a glove today, and the system will tell you that you are down to three.

Built for accountability

Every approval has a name

Every void, discount and comp names the person who authorised it. Staff sign in by PIN, and the till refuses a PIN that two people share.

Drawers that balance

Cash drawer shifts with X and Z reports, and end-of-day reconciliation with over/short.

Negative stock is shown, not hidden

Stock below zero is shown in red rather than clamped away — it means the count is wrong or something was sold that was never received.
